JACOB - Running from His Brother Esau, Genesis 29 - 32

1. Running from his brother Esau,
Who was very mad indeed,
But Jacob had a promise:
God would meet his every need.

Hallelujah! God could change him;;
Even Jacob, tricky son!
He could take him, he could make him
Into a prince, a precious one.
2. Uncle Laban cheated Jacob,
And his wages rearranged,
Jacob worked to earn his Rachel
But the plan old Laban changed.
3. Twenty years of serving Laban,
Tending cows and herding sheep,
Fathered twelve sons, some were naughty;;
What he sowed he also reaped.
4. Jacob's life was full of blessings,
But he had some troubles too -
From his brother, uncle, children;;
Yet the Lord did see him through.
