David Song 3 - I'll send you to a man
(1 Samuel 9:2)

1. I'll send you to a man, a man of the land,
The land of Benjamin;
And you shall anoint him ruler of my people Israel.
And he shall save my people Israel,
From the hand of the Philistines;
For I have looked upon my people because
Their cry has come to me!

2. Saul, a handsome man, choice, handsome man,
There was none more handsome than he.
From his shoulders up he was taller than
All the people anyone could see.
When Samuel gathered the tribes,
He couldn't find Saul,
Who was hiding among the gear.
Then God revealed him and he stood up tall —
"Oh look! Our king is here!"

3. After battle one day Saul took his own way:
Made an off 'ring to the Lord.
No, he could not wait when Samuel was late,
God's order he ignored.
Samuel arrived, took Saul aside,
And said, "Your kingdom's through!
God will anoint a king whose heart
Is according to His - that's true!"
