Daniel Song 21 - Long Ago Their Fathers
Daniel 6:10; 9:4, 13, 19; 12:1

1. Long ago their fathers dwelt in
A rich and spacious land;
It flowed with milk and honey,
In hills and valleys grand.
It was given by Jehovah, and kept by Him secure.
As long as men would love Him, He made their safety sure.

2. But the people's love grew colder;
From God they turned away;
They tested His endurance: to idols went astray.
They were conquered and made prisoner;
To Babylon were led,
Where Daniel was a captive,
But remembered what God said.

3. Windows open toward Jerusalem,
On bended knees he prayed,
For God to show compassion, and bring them home one day.
Daniel asked God to remember His promise to their race,
To keep His holy city and build His dwelling place.

Oh, Lord, hear! Lord, forgive!
Take action, Lord, don't delay!
