Let There Be Light ,Genesis 1

Let's sing about the first four days of creation!

1. Let there be light, said God, and there was light!
God saw the light, He saw that it was good.
Then He separated the light from the darkness —
He called the light day and He called the darkness night.

Chorus:
Day is light, dark is night, da--y—ni--ght!
O-h, hallelujah, thank You for creation —
Evening and morning were the first day.

2. Let there be atmosphere, said God, and there was atmosphere —
Waters from the waters with a separating sky.
God made the atmosphere, and He called it Heaven.
The waters separated; God spoke and that was why !

Chorus:
Waters above, waters below, above—below.
O-h, hallelujah, thank You for creation —
Evening and morning were the second day.

3. God said let the waters gather altogether;
Let the dry land appear; He spoke and it was so.
God said, Let the earth grow grass and herbs and trees of wood;
It all began to grow; God saw that it was good.
Seas! Grass! Trees!
O-h, hallelujah, thank You for creation —
Evening and morning were the third day.

4. Let there be lights in the expanse of heaven,
Let them divide the day from the night.
Let them be for signs, for seasons, years, and days;
God saw it was good: light-bearers all ablaze.

Chorus:
The greater light to rule the day;
The lesser light to rule the night;
The stars above are twinkling bright.
O-h, hallelujah, thank You for creation —
Evening and morning were the fourth day.
